What is Dual-Stream Recycling?
Dual-Stream Recycling is a program that collects fiber products separately from other mixed commingled (glass, plastics, aluminum) recyclables.
Recyclable materials other than paper are disposed of together in a mixed-recyclables container. These items are collected by your refuse hauler then sorted at your local Transfer Station then passed on to the vendor to be processed. Residents are asked to recycle glass, plastic and aluminum containers in one container and mixed paper products (office paper, newspaper, magazines direct mail, etc.) tied together in a bundle. Corrugated cardboard, fiberboard and paperboard should be broken down and tied together in a neat stack and place by the other recyclable materials.
