Collectors of refuse and recyclables are regulated by the Department of Public Works, which monitors all items delivered to your towns transfer station. The Department reserves the right to suspend the dumping privileges or fine the waste generator (weather they are a resident or a business) and/or collector of discarded material, if proper separation of recyclables has not occurred. Each town participates in a different method of recycling and should be followed by the specific guidelines set fourth by your town. Proper waste separation and recycling isn’t just good for the environment, it’s the State and local law!
